Complete Web Server Independence. A dedicated appliance, the  SSL Offloader is designed to be completely independent of the Web server for greater compatibility.

Flexible Management. The  SSL Offloader can be configured and managed using several management interfaces including serial-based CLI, Telnet, Web-based GUI, and a remote INXCFG utility for clustering capabilities. For secure communications, the SSL Offloader supports HTTPS and TelnetS encryption.

Back-End Encryption. The  SSL Offloader supports the capability of initiating SSL sessions to an SSL termination point on another device to deliver complete end-to-end security while still allowing the content switch to make routing decisions.

Client Certificate Support. The  SSL Offloader enables a logical SSL server to request a client certificate during the SSL handshake and then provide control over the handling of the certificate to the secure server. The certificate information can then be forwarded back to the secure server.

Reliability.  The rack-mounted versions of the  SSL Offloader include redundant power supplies to ensure your mission-critical secure servers stay up and running. Multiple  SSL Offloaders can be combined to create high availability for SSL transaction processing. SSL Offloader Product Family

The SonicWALL SSL Offloader is a network appliance that is placed in front of any web server tasked with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) transactions.
